ABOUT ME

My name is Kristoffer Visti Graae. I race as a professional triathlete, mainly on half and full distance, and have done that alongside my scientific career in physics, where I have a PhD on characterisation of battery materials.

Throughout my triathlon career I have been fascinated by the prospect of improving my performance by optimising my equipment choices, position and general approach to training and racing. As the largest single obstacle to cycling faster, aerodynamic drag has naturally been a big focus point. This has led me to improve my understanding of fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and developing testing protocols to quantify and ultimately minimize my drag when on the bike. This while still maximising power output.

I have a PhD in applied Physics from the Technical University of Denmark, so it has always been natural for me to consider a triathlon race as an engineering challenge and distilling it down to first principles. For the last three years I have begun not only doing aerodynamic testing on myself, but also with other athletes. I have helped fellow elite athletes as well as age-group athletes looking to maximise their own performance.
